The Rhenosterspruit Nature Conservancy is an association of like-minded people, reliant on membership.

The goal of the RNC is to restore and sustain the conditions that support and promote life.

This means we volunteer to do all in our power to protect and conserve the natural systems that give life - the trees, the grasses, the insects, the animals and earth itself.

Therefore, we take responsibility to be custodians of this part of the earth where we live, accepting this as a privilege to care for that which sustains us, our community and generations to come.

To this end we invite membership into the organisation of volunteers to think, plan and act to make this responsibility a living reality.

Membership types

Voting members, being landowners and residents of the RNC (individuals, trusts, partnerships, companies) who have signed up and paid the agreed membership fee

Associate members, being Friends of the RNC and users of the facilities and events organised by the RNC, who wish to sign up

Egoli members, being donors who either sponsor specific projects or make donations over and above the actual membership fee and are specially acknowledged for this contribution to the aim and objectives of the RNC.

Membership rules

Voting Membership of the RNC is open to the following:

• individual owners of land within the area of the RNC
• residents within the area of the RNC, whether landowners or not
• companies, partnerships or trusts owning land within the RNC.

Associate (non-voting) Membership of the RNC is open to the following:

• any member of the public who uses the facilities in the RNC or partakes in activities organised by the RNC
• external organisations that have the same aim and objectives of the RNC and who wish to align themselves with the RNC.

Requests for RNC membership, whether voting or associate, must be made in writing to the RNC Committee which will acknowledge receipt of each membership.

The RNC Committee shall, at its discretion, accept or reject an application for membership.

A member may elect to resign at any time. In this case, no refund of any portion of membership fees already paid will be refundable, except at the discretion of the RNC
Committee.
